And we're off!!

Hello and Welcome. This blog will be a record of our progress through Media Project2 - To create a media artifact based on the narrative surrounding the events of the 1916 rising. Today was our first lecture, where we also were put into groups. This group the so called "Fangtastic Four" are comprised of : Colm Moloney, Evan O' Sullivan, Tony Naughton, Darren Murphy.

After receiving the brief, we discussed how we each would like to work this assignment. Thankfully we all agreed on a fairly similar approach. We are using the AGILE approach to the assignment, in that, at each step in the development process,  once we are satisfied with the direction we are going, we will move on from there step by step.

The Medium we decided to use is animation / moving image.  This is an area we all would like to develop further in our own skills sets as well as push us further in the area.

Next, we discussed the perspective we would like to tell this story from.  We found that our knowledge of the events surrounding the rising was .... not the best.... so we decided that we would research the facts, the figures, and the story from a couple of perspectives. From that research we would then decided which perspective we found to be the most : interesting, though provoking or comical, and take it from there.

Colm, Evan and Tony are going to research the history and stories, facts and figures from the 1916 rising, while Darren will also research the different art styles that can be used from our production.
We agreed that on monday next we would meet up and talk about how we each got on with the research and decided where to go next with it.

Over the course of the 13 weeks, we each will post up our own contributions as well as our group progress.
